If you got your 850 to get to work and back, you missed the point. It is a performance car. Ya I have repair bills,,but it is a trade off for the great ride and look. I do not understand all the complaining. Volvo has always had average reliability and expensive parts, so does saab,bmw and audi.

If after 5 years owning an 850 you say "man, glad thats over" you missed the point.

Performance car? Ever notice how much gray hair is driving these slugs? Beat the pulp out of my 850T just to feel a little good about this hand-me-down pig. Performance car. Just don't hit any pot holes cause you'll blow out more of those hard to find $700 tire and rim sets, or don't rev too high cause you'll blow a seal or turbo hose or hear that clacki-ti-clack valve tapping ticking like a time bomb. This car makes me realize how much I want a real performance car. AGHH!

I use mine to get to work and back and like it very much. I do not get tired in at all and looking forward to driving it. Nice ride and handling, not very quiet, but the stock stereo is great, so road noise is not a problem.

I do not know about turbo (do not have one), but a non-turbo 850 is NOT a performance car. 160+ hp for 3500 lbs is not much.
