Another blowby question. 850 1994

hi all,.

I have searched the forum and don't know what to do. I have an 850 2.5L non turbo, 177000km. Now it has blowby and if you hold the engine at 5500rpm, oil actually squirts out of the hose that comes from the black box underneath the intake manifold. So i'm assuming it is not blocked. Now is the box supposed to keep the oil in? Also, it leaks alot from the front seal of the crankshaft pulley but only after 5mins from startup. Strange! Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Steve

Your PCV is totally clogged causing increased crankcase pressure, which is then blowing the seals out.

No, oil should NEVER come out of the hose. That is a vacuum line.

Have you replaced the oil separator box previously? Or the hoses?

No I have not replaced anything, will I need to remove the intake manifold to get to the box?

Yes, if you replace the separator box, the intake manifold must be liftted up. You can keep the injectors in place to save time, just by lifting the manifold and letting it rest on the top of the engine.

But, first: Check the PCV valve. If there is a screen in there, throw it away. Then checck the lines going to the PCV for blockage, if blocked use a wire to try to ream them out a little.

The oil level is not above the full mark, correct?
