Cam pulley 850

I have an 850 turbo 2.3 motor Im about to put in my 95 850 with one cam pully off. I have the pully to put back on there but there are no marks for me to know exactly where to put the timing mark at so my question is once I put the pully back on how would I go about setting my timing if I put the pully timing mark in the wrong spot ( photos and links helpful ) Is it posible to remove my valve cover and copy the position of my old motor that has cam and timing already set

You really don't want to remove the cam cover. Just remove the cam position sensor and note the indent/groove that goes across the the cam. It should be horizontal, and if so, then the cam is already in the correct position.

The cam gear can only go one in one position due to the groove, but there is a little leeway for positioning the timing mark. Because the cam itself is OK, the timing mark can be lined up and the cam gear torked down.

The other timing marks are set properly, right?
