After 200K miles, the price usually drops a lot. The cam seals were replaced? That is an indicator of high crankcase pressure and either the PCV system needs to be changed out (NA) or the PTC nipple needs to be cleaned(turbo). These cars must have synthetic motor oil to stay clean, if the owner used regular oil, I suggest cleaning the engine with AutoRx.

Ask where the car was serviced and if there is any maintenance history, most important. The struts and shocks should have been replaced by now. Check the CV boots on the front for cracks, figure $100 for a new axle.

2000 is the second year for electronic throttle and individual coils. The coils are under the cover and tend to overheat and crack, the ETM just fails.

The electronic throttle module is problematic on these cars (1999-2002). Check the label-- if it's white, there is probably a replacement in your future. If it's yellow, that's better.

That said, I just bought a 2000 V70 myself. If my ETM fails, I will bite the bullet and go for the XeMODeX $600 replacement.

Good luck!
