current value of a 1995 850 turbo sedan in excellent condition 850

Our 1995 850 turbo sedan has been brought back to tip-top shape with about $700 (OK, soon it may need tires). Therefore, we will continue enjoying it, although it has a bit more than 200k miles (all of them in our hands). The question I have is how much should I expect to get from such a car, if I were to put it for sale?

1995 850 turbo sedan, a really great car
2006 S60 2.5T, a really nice car my other half likes very much
2011 Subaru Forester Premium, a very nice small SUV (getting to be a bit unstable at speeds in the triple digits and a bit windy weather); I wish there would be its turbo version with stick shift!

The magic 200K mark. Price is completely dependent on where you live and how much maintenance history you have. Very few non-Volvo people will be willing to buy a car with that many miles, they assume that any car will fall apart sooner rather than later.

Check all of the online sites in your area and check the asking prices. Your car must be extremely clean, inside and out, with everyting working. $1500 would be a stretch for me, but that is Twin Cities pricing.

Then I guess I will keep for another ... 17 years! Thanks Claus.

Agree with Klaus. My '95 855T is closing in on only 170,000 thanks to being parked for three years while I had a company car. Only a volvo DIY fan is likely to consider purchase. I see them occasionally for maybe $2,400 to $3,000 asking price.

Mine runs like a top, needs tires and brakes again and the seats are starting to split. So, do I grab a couple of transmissions and other major spares at the U-Pull-It yard and keep going?

I'll run it a few more years and re-evaluate. Maybe move into a 940turbo, wait, we already have one!

Btw, after it's three-year nap it carried me back and forth from Memphis to Virginia for several months before the fuel pump failed. Cost of ownership for three years? $400 plus insurance.

        Erwin in Memphis
