Voltage regulator fix"/Service bulletin V70-XC70 1998

In a previous post about Headlight Bulbs (early burnout) someone mentioned that Volvo had had a possibly related "Voltage regulator fix/Service bulletin".

Would anyone know the details or where on the Net I could find out more info?

Thanks

There is no known voltage regulator problem, just that the bulbs are always on and don't last as long as they did in older cars (like with sealed beams).

No service bulletin for S70 headlight bulbs, except to replace the bulbs with longer life bulbs, but the 1998 is not covered under warranty, for bulbs. What is early burn out for lights that are on all the time??

Re: Voltage regulator fix"/Service bulletin V70-XC70 1998

I have been replacing the Ostram Bulbs at ~$20-CAN every 6 months due to burnout. I have about 86k on our V70 and can not adjust them to turn off (no screw in Canadian models?) I have played with trying to fix the dashlight knob in an in-between setting but with little luck (thinking now that fiddling may cause quicker burnout)

Never had such quick burnout on previous cars. Also have the hyperactive turn signal problem but at least I can easily and cheaply fix that one.

Annoying small time problem and if I can keep this vehicle for 10 years without a major problem I guess I won't complain.
