Who's going to Starbucks with their Volvos? :) 850

"Don't waste your money on Volvo cars. Even though they are the best cars, they are overpriced. You can buy brand X, which do the same thing, but maybe not quite as safe, or quiet, or last as long, for a lot less. The only reason Volvo can stay in business is the yuppies have got to have them to pose at Starbucks."

    Starbucks coffee isn't that bad.

    Now that Sam's Club carries it, when my wife and I take the Volvo out there to stock up on staples, we occasionally pick up a pound.

    Posturing? Since it's usually on the higher shelves, I sometimes have to stretch to reach the bag.

    One thing about American coffee - normally tasteless. Starbucks roasts the cr_p out of the beans which they then call flavour. They don't mind charging for the stuff either!

    As for going for coffee - the cupholders are useless in an 850 manual...

        Not that I know of! I was just playing along with the humour:) Remember when cupholders were a big thing with car salesmen?

        By the way - between changing gears and steering when can you safely drink in the car? Let's be responsible here.... :)

          Huh! Cupholders have successfully made it to the masses, not only salesmen, in the US.

          Where I live (near Washington, DC), commuters not only drink coffee, but eat sandwitches/soup/chicken salad/whatever and read newspapers while driving. 75% of all cars here are automatic, so no gear shifting issue.

          As weird as it might seem to you, you're risking to be flamed for joking about cupholders (even on a Volvo board :):))

    At Stakbucks you pay to much and get too little.

    With a Volvo it is the oppsite.

    You won't find me posing anywhere in my Volvo. To fun to drive.

      I was visiting Starbucks long before I got my 850. The only thing that changes when I bring it vs. my Accord is I get better service. Hey, and what's wrong with posturing? I enjoy showing off my 850 Turbo to the kids with daddy’s money and 3 series. But I am always shut down before long as the Starbucks I frequent is across the street from a Lamborghini and Lotus dealer. Anyone up for a venti mocha frap? After that we can hit Einstein Brothers Bagels and then swing over to Barnes and Nobel. After we get our fill of the literary type we can promenade over to Strawbridges, Nordstrom, and Perry Ellis and deck ourselves out in Armani Aqua Di Gio cologne and pick up some yuppie girls. Any takers? I'll buy the coffee.
