Running rough on start-up V70-XC70

All of a sudden, my 99 V70 which has been running like a champ (197K)runs rough on start up. It will stall and gag unless i keep the RPM's up. after about 25 seconds its fine, any ideas? No check engine light or any other indications.

Thanks.

There are so many variables. Are the spark plugs gapped correctly? Are the coils all cracked. Is the air filter clogged, restricting the amount of air during cold/enriched startup? With 197K, you must be using the newer version of the ETM, but that could be a problem. The MAF could also be dirty and giving false readings. The throttle body could also be dirty and messing up the air flow. Same with the engine coolant temp sensor, or the O2 sensors.

I see that someone posted about the same problem a few days before me. They got a code. I suppose I should wait and see if I get a code or not. Air filter looks clean plugs are less than a year old, Volvo brand. One coil is new got a code for that aboiut 10 months ago. I dont know about the etm, got this car from my sister, she had all the work done and saved all work orders so I will check if it was replaced. It was fine all winter her in RI. I think for starters I will try some fuel cleaner Techron. ETM looks clean not black and gunky.
