Another a/c question - Low pressure V70-XC70 1998

Hi all,

My a/c compressor is not kicking on at all so I jumped the pressostat switch as recommended in another thread. The compressor kicked on immediately. So I guess that's the good news.
So now what? Should I take is somewhere to have it recharged or can I do it myself as I have done in the past? Does the compressor have to be running to take the new refrigerant? Should I have someone jump the switch as I add it?
Thanks in advance.

Jeff

DIY. The AC compressor must be ready to start as soon as you attach the can, and in most instances the can pressure is enough to get it going. Make sure you put in the entire can, shaking the can sideways so that all of the liquid in the can gets sucked in until it is all gone.
