Replaced my wife's struts, mounts, bearings/bushings on the front of her v70 T5 Turbo last fall. Noticed shortly after replacement, there was a creaking sound when the steering wheel was turned. Winter came, so did cold weather. Creaking went away. Creaking is now back. Any thoughts on the culprit? Similar experience?

Are you sure the creaking is not coming from the steering column where it goes through the firewall? There is a fix for that.

I have exactly the same issue after similar replacements. My creaking occurs throughout a turn, not just at the terminator, so I'm not sure if the solution below will help me.

I posted a similar question here at the time, but didn't get any responses...maybe someone will chime in now. I even had a professional examine my work during an alignment, he said he couldn't find the source of the creaking.

My V70 did the same, greased the steering stops and hasn't come back since.

If you did not grease the stops before you need to do this and check it off your list as a possible cause.
