Which Other Models Did You Consider? V70-XC70 01

For those of you who have purchased or are seriously considering the purchase of the '01 XC, which other vehicle models did you consider and why did you consider them to be part of your competitive set?

I looked at both SUV's and station wagons although I really wanted a station wagon and not an SUV. So after trying the MB and BMW SUV's I went back to trying all wheel drive station wagons. And seriously considered the Subaru Outback VDC but the luxury, comfort and control of the Volvo XC won out over everything else I tried. Including the MB SUV, which had come highly recommended.

We have had the XC since Oct and taken several long trips as well as around town driving and are very satisfied.

Lexus RX, Mercedes ML, BMW X5 (albeit overpriced), Audi allroad, a handful of luxury sport utes (Infiniti, Lexus). That's about it.
