rear headrest tilt question S60 2001

I have the original 2001 s60 non-turbo manual tranny version.

I can't figure out how to make the rear headrests tilt. I don't see a tilt button next to the STC button on the front dash.

Is there a way to manually tilt them or remove them? Hardly anyone rides in the back and they hugely obstruct rear vision causing major blindspots.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Has anyone tried to hardwire in an aux cable into their volvo factory stereo?

My is the cheaper single CD and tape version without navigation. The sound quality for my ipod though the tape adapter is pretty poor quality.

On my 1998, you can lift the rear headrest a little and then fold it forward.

Never expect a great sound from your Ipod, the music stored on it has been compressed and the really high and low sounds have been eliminated.

I finally figured this out. I even called the Volvo folks in Sweden and they said it was impossible to fold down.

You push the headrest hard to towards the passenger's side door. Once it clears the metal bracket they fold down with ease. To put them back up make sure you push towards to drivers side door to make them safe.

I feel like I am driving a new car. The visibility is impressive and I no longer feel like I am merging blindly at highway speeds in heavy traffic.

with regards to audio. Plug your car specs into www.crutchfield.com and check for OEM iPod integration. I know for my 07 there are provisions for a direct ipod connection with full control from the factory deck. Will set me back about $175 but I am content with factory Sat Radio for now. Will probably add it after I add a powered Infinity Basslink to the trunk to help out with the low end.

Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve. I ended up getting a new deck on crutchfield and switching out the factory one. Now I have the ipod hardwired in and I also have handsfree bluetooth phone through the stereo. It's very nice and much safer. The Ipod sounds great through the stereo's USB jack. Cheers
