damage to rear control arms from lazy tech using his own jack points to lift the car V70-XC70 2000

Sooooo... i got a good deal on tires at sears and figured why not let these guys put em on for me (despite my tendency to only let competent folk put my car on a lift) , so i show up while the car is on the lift and the guy has the rear being held up by the control arms not to mention the smashed mudflaps. so i'm wondering A. what kind of damage can something like this cause . i know he fouled up something in the front too because the front passenger door is now 1/8 of an inch higher than it was when i dropped the car off, if i hadn't just washed it i may not have noticed. any help is always appreciated.

You need to have your lawyer call Sears. Sounds like it fell off the front jack.

Once you drove out of the service bay, it was probably too late to get them to repair the damage. Now it is your word against theirs. All shops, including Sears, carry insurance in case an employee screws up and they should fix what they broke.

Your door being out of alignment is an indication of severe damage, not just a bent control arm or two.

Call Erie Vovo at 800-441-3743. They sell good used parts at a nice price. I had to change mine because they rusted away. I used the one Vovo sent me as a template and made my own from much heaver material. They are so fragile, no lifting at all should be done on them. I'm surprised the car didn't fall off of the lift. I always watch where these guys decide to lift my car with a floor jack.
Good luck! RK
