Wanting to switch out my SC-811 Radio/cassette for an SC-816 radio/c.d/cassette.
I believe this is a straight swap and the 816 plugs right in.

Questions.
Is there a pre-amp hiding somewhere and if so is there a quality difference between them?
Does a car that comes stock with the 816 have better speakers than a car that came stock with an 811?

Drop some new speakers into that car. The originals are most likely falling apart.

Plug and play, I did that to my 1995. Same speakers. If you buy it from Ebay, make sure it comes with the security code.

If you don't get the security, some dealers will give it to you, but some won't.
