Performance Chips C70 2000

Does anyone have any experience with performance chips? Specifically, I have a 2000 C70 Volvo, and am interested in increasing power and gas mileage.

I have heard good and bad regarding Performance chips, however in speaking with the auto tech at the local dealer (Volvo does not recommend adding performance chips). Their experiences have all been negative or degraded performance.

That leads me to the Volvo community to ASK "DOES ANYONE" have any experience with performance chips and most importantly "WILL YOU" share that information?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

If you have a low pressure turbo, forget it. The high pressure turbo has chips available from IPD and others. It will boost the BHP to around 300 and limit the torque to 275lbs.

Unfortunately, you cannot have both - gobbs of BHP and great gas mileage.

The LPT should give you over 27mpg on the highway if the engine is in good condition. My HPT gives me 26mpg at 70mph, of course with clean plugs and good oil.

I don't know why dealers poopoo the chips, there are acouple of different kinds. One for the USA, one for Europe, both of which are Volvo company chips, and many for blow-the-doors-off high speed autobahn driving. I would never consider drag racing my turbo, with a 17G installed and modified BOV. I don't like piston rods poking through the side of the block. Besides, 5mpg at full throttle is not my cup of tea.
