the check engine light came on. i ran a code on it- air leak.i fixed the air leak- now,i need to turn off the check engine light. royal volvo and jack ingram volvo told me all i had to do is disconnect the negative battery cable-wait 5 minute-reconnect-light would go out. now what about the radio code. both volvo dealerships told me that my 2001 s-60 has no radio code.can anyone tell me about my 2001 s-60 having no radio code. my wife cannot live without sounds.thanks

I can confirm that my radio has no code....The reason being it is built into the central console and would involve the whole console being removed....

You could run the drive cycle about 3 times and let the code go away if it was fixed. You could go to an autoparts store, borrow a scanner, and clear the code. Or disconnect the battery, so long as you don't have an emmissions test coming up soon.

The newer cars do not have a radio code, the radios do not easily come out of the dash.

I do not like disconnecting the battery for a number of reasons. It is best to scan the OBD, find the error, clear it and see if it comes back immediately.
