1999 S70 AWD WITH CVVT S70 1999

I need to R&R 1999 S70 AWD CYLINDER HEAD. I need help setting the timing marks.

You are embarking on a rather difficult task.

Remove the spark plugs so that you can easily rotate the engine. The timing mark on the crank pully is very difficult to see, use a flashlight. Use the timing marks for the cams to help you. As the marks come into alignment on the cams, start looking for the crank mark.

Once you have all 3 marks lined up, turn the crank clockwise for 90 degrees and then back to TDC. That will releve the pressure in the VVT. At this point you will be able to remove the timing belt.

Be careful when removing the cams, use a zip tie to lable the exhaust cam so you will know which is which when you go back to reassemble things.

Except for the VVT, your engine is just like an 850, so the Haynes 850 manual is a good reference.
