Hi all...

I just wanted to drop a tip on the availability of a 2003 S60 T5 manual that I'm trading in to a dealer. I know I could get better by selling rather than trading, but I didn't want to deal with the hassle. I'm not sure this is so much a classified ad as it is a plea for someone in the DC local area to save her...I would really like to see the car go to someone who would appreciate it, so I'm putting the word out. I'm trading in today.

At a high level she's Nautic Blue with Taupe leather interior, 82.5K mi, Premium/Climate/Sport packages. Bought CPO in 2006 at 24.6K mi. All service records from previous owner accounted for at local Volvo dealer, and all service records accounted for at dealer from course of my ownership.

Send an email on the email link by my name if you want more details. Since it's not a Volvo dealership they will probably not want to do anything with her except put her on auction. If you catch it soon enough you might be able to get a good price.

Too bad. You should have advertised the car better/sooner. Trade-in price + sales tax would have been a good deal for someone. Now, we have to pay for dealer markup.

Yeah, I know, but it was a last minute deal and I didn't want to let the other car slip through my fingers before I could find a buyer for the S60. A little over a year ago I missed out on a well-priced '06 V70R, trying to sell the S60 ahead of pulling the trigger on buying the VR. When the VR sold a couple days after putting the word out on the S60, I just gave up on the idea of buying and selling and just kept the S60.

Anyway, I figured if the word got out right away after trading and before the dealer did anything to condition the car for resale or auction (hell, I just detailed her) that they would just simply pass her along with little fuss or markup.

Ah well. Trade-in is complete, and while the new ride is great, the soft spot still remains for the T5.
