rear window won't go up S70 1998

lowered right rear window in car, wouldn't go back up...motor okay, glass loose in mounting, by wiggling/straightening out glass, then raise a little, repeat, got window to close..thank goodness, quite cold here in central NY right now..so did glass jump out of window open/close mechanism, or did some clip/retainer expire? how hard to pull interior panel off w/o damaging it? would like to again be able to use window....while I am in there, would also like to address issue of power lock that will lock with button push, but not unlock...seem to recall reading on forum about some dreaded piece of red plastic that is the source of this problem...available alone, or part of an assembly?

I believe you want to read both pages of this first:

http://volvospeed.com/Repair/v70latch1.php

When removing the door panel, pull the TOP of the plastic trim behind the door lock handle out first. There are 2 plastic tabs that go behind the panel, use a screwdriver to find them and push down on the tab and pull on the plastic.

Once the plastic cover is loose, remove the torx screw hidden in the door handle. Use your screwdriver to find the clips that hold the panel to the door and pull the panel away from the door. Try to be as close to the clip as possible to avoid breaking them. The dealer charges too much for them!

Once the panel is lifted up and off the door, you will find the the loose track. The track is either broken or lost it screws (which are in the bottom of the door).

I suggest finding a new latch in a pick&pull, dealers want too much for a new door latch.
