testing 850 maf sensor 850

my 1994 850 volvo is giving a few headaches with rough running lack of power etc,no codes
Checked everything or replaced it,but I need to check the maf sensor function, without just replacing it.
Does anyone have a detailed test procedure, using just a multimeter

Ignition on (but engine not) .1-.2 V.. Idling should be about .9V. Should go up as speed goes up...

To check, first make sure the intake air hoses are not cracked.. Then engine off/key in ignition check pin 3 vs the ground. It should be battery voltage. If not theres your problem. Pin three is the 2nd from the left when looking at the pins (ie, you're the MAF and the wires are going into you.. 2nd from left). If OK then turn the car off, and wait 5 minutes, then check pin 4 (far left same viewpoint) for resistance. It should have 9-11K Ohms, if other report back. If OK ignition on (engine off, MAF connected) again, and check voltage between pins 2 and 4. Should be .1-.2V if OK, start car, check at idle should be ~.9V.. If it all passes then wiring and MAF are good.

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?

just managed to get this test done today.with the maf disconnected pin 3 and ground is battery voltage.
Still disconnected pin 4 to ground is 25.5 kohms (waited 5 mins) ignition on voltage between pins 2 and 4 is 2.7 volts.
So something is amiss

cheers for responding
Checking for resistance on pin 4,is that between the pin and ground.?

cheers
