Hello,

My daughter has a 1995 850 sedan (don't remember if it's GL or GLT?) and she lives in the city, where someone hit her driver side rear light and broke the clear lens part of it. The bulb still works, but the thin plastic cover for that back-up light is now gone. In Massachusetts, the car won't pass inspection with a broken lens. I called the junkyard and the fellow said he had a 1993 850 sedan and could sell me the whole unit - way more than we need, but apparently it's the only solution. How would I know if it fits? I don't have the car with me and will only see it on Thanksgiving.

Where in Mass are you?
There's two good boneyards on the North Shore you can visit
Naumkeg Salvage in Salem
and
Ferris Salvage in Salem
Both have reasonable prices

I believe 93-94 are the same, but 95-97 are slightly different.

Check with the local pick&pull yards in MA. Many have a website that show when an 850 has entered the yard, less time in the yard = more parts available.

I vote for eBay and, yes it is the whole unit that gets replaced. There's Erie Vovo, who you could call, and they might save you some time.
