Temp gauge 850 1995

On my 95 850 the temp only gets above the 5 o clock reading when I sit idle in traffic for a few minutes then it goes back to the 5 position when I drive off.Never goes over the 3 position. The radiator has been replaced due to a leak around the plastic side (common failure) so it has a new rad PLUS a new oem thermostat. Any ideas where else to look?

    If this has been happening since you replaced the radiator, I suggest that you have air in the system. Remove the cap on the overflow bottle and squeeze the top radiator hose repeatedly until there are no more bubbles coming into the overflow bottle.
