Used '99 S80 S80 1999

I'm looking at a 1999 S80 T6. It has 88000 on it and shows what I consider very little use. A few dings and worn drivers seat. This is the first year for the S80 I think and I thought I'd ask, is there anything I should look for?
I plan on doing a Car fax and know to look and see if the timing belt has been changed but that is about all I know.
I'd love to hear from and experienced brick guy about this car.
Thanks Mike

The first year for the S80 is normally to be avoided. There should be very little wear on the driver's seat with only 88K miles, suspect the speedo reading.

The T6 engine created a very hot engine compartment and cooked the wiring and engine electronics. The tranny is also suspect. The S80, while 'top of the line' was also the test 'mule' for all of the new electronics. Unfortunately, the electronics are very expensive to replace/repair.

I would pass on this car.

I was told by a service tech at my local Volvo dlr to avoid the 99-01 S80's. He then said that something happened in 02 and they miraclously got substantially better. Like Klaus said I would avoid the 99's tempting though it might be.
