servo vent motor floor, dash, defroster problem 850 1997

Is there a fuse for the servo? I thought i had my floor vent issue fixed but now the servo stoped working, wonder if i blew a fuse but can't find one.

Flashing lights are indicative that you've got issues with your climate control. I don't believe its possible to read the codes w/o a Volvo Scanner on these 850's. The servo being broken will set off the code, that I believe will turn off if the servo is fixed.

As far as I can remember the fuses for the climate control are all in the engine bay.

If you've built up a decent relationship with the dealer (or if they're feeling nice) you can talk them into reading the codes. As far as I know the floor dampener can have 3 faults stored as codes: Active too long, Short to ground, Short to 12V. Call or show up (perhaps you're buying a cheap part- oil cap gasket comes to mind) and ask, worst thing they can say is it'll cost 1/2 hour labor to check (and you say thanks but no thanks..) Many times if they're not busy they've done it for me (service light reset and code checks , not just climate)

Actually, it is possible to read the ECC codes from the OBD-II port. Details here. I've been meaning to post a picture of my box, but it's really pretty simple. Maybe this weekend after I've replaced a radiator ...

The orange lights of death! Do yourself a favor, turn the key to posI, and watch the orange lights. When the recirc light turns orange, push the orange side of the button for one second. It should come back and give you 3 numbers, in blinks, which correspond to the error code.

I have been waiting for mine to do that so I can try it.
