Anyone interested in participating in well-intentioned internet vigilante-ism?

This "Raj" fellow at Hollywood motors in St. Louis lists the exact same 2002 V70 on craigslist EVERY DAY!

This is the very definition of "Spam/Overpost" and it is making it hard to shop for a decent car.

Craigslist has a system to stop this sort of thing, but it requires more than one or two people to flag the listing as "Spam/Overpost."

Would anyone be interested in either flagging this guy's insane 3-time-a-day listings?

If this obnoxious behavior succeeds, this fellow is just going keep doing it.

Please check it out and flag if you find this sort of behavior obnoxious.

    It is amazin how much fun can sometime be had if you are willing to act sort dumb, so:

    From 3 different telephone numbers, using three different names, call about each of the cars. Ask what it the difference between the three cars? Why are they all the same color and mileage? After all, if there are 3 cars, one must be in better shape than the other two. When can you see and compare all three cars together?

    Channel your inner Montague Python thru your questions, it is never too silly until the suit of armor hits you with the rubber chicken.

    If he acknowledges that he triple posts,see if you can get it in writing. Forward that to the CL folks.

    Remember, you are doing a good deed. Gawd will reward you at some needed point in your life for doing this service.

      I like your sense of humor, but while screwing with the guy would be entertaining I'm not sure if he deserves that much effort.

      Considering the time he must be putting into re-listing that car three times daily, I can't imagine I should do him the service of expending that much of my own time just to make a point.

      Admittedly flagging takes time and asking other Volvo folks to flag also takes time, but I figure a couple-minutes of flagged 10-20 posts is worth it, but calling the dumb-arse repeatedly might lead to a trouble.

      I don't want the next "Whopflopple Elementary" fiasco on my hands.

      Google it if you don't know what that is...

    Its funny, he posts it 3x+ a day and then if it sells he keeps doing it. If it doesn't he claims volvo's don't sell and keeps it up with a different car till it works... I'm thinking you call 3x every day about the car and make him do tons of work on it. Maybe even test drive it every time :-). Also it appears you can stop seeing his by adding -raj -hollywood to your search string. I know this doesn't solve the problem but it makes it less annoying.

    According to KBB 9k (it was 9K in August..) isn't terrible for that car, depending on condition of course.

    Oh and I flagged 20 or so for you...

    Lastly, if you want to go the dealer route, call Suntrup out in St. Charles. Sometimes they get the older ones (usually I see an '03-'04 when I drive by) and they might have a gem or two. If not, then maybe you can talk one of their salesmen to give you a good deal on a trade-in. For parts those guys give me the best prices I've gotten at a dealer anywhere.

      Hey thanks for the efforts! I know I can block him out if I do an in-depth (non title) search, but then I have to troll through dozens of other dealers who list a string of keywords (like "Volvo") even when they are selling jeeps and nissans.

      It's a principle issue. Why make rules but enforce them for some people sometimes and let the other guy do whatever he wants?. He's blatantly violating the posting rules but few seem to care. The folks on the CL message board didn't seem to care either.
