I must replace my ABS controller and I was curious if anyone has had any luck buying one of these units from a junk yard. I found the exact part, not one that fits many different years, and it has the original OEM part number on it. I have heard that even though it is identical car with the same PN on it that it may still not work since these units are married to the vehicle. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi,
Xemodex would appear to be the way to go on this issue. The price is right relative to a "new" unit from the dealer:$1500/one year warranty. Xemodex offers overnite service plus lifetime warranty plus no trip to dealer to download software for slightly over $500.
Putting in a junkyard part could mean doing it all over again in 6 months.
Wished I`d known about Xemodex(thanks to Klaus) last year when I had to replace the DIM on wife`s XC70 @ $2000. Cost from Xemodex? $500!
