Burning plastic smell when you turn o n the heater fan
does not come up to full speed put runs steady on low?
Key does not come out of the ignition all the time.
Clunky kind of rotational noise from the timing belt cover
near exhaust gear
cams still turn did not start but may have with more cranking
thanks

Are you thinking about buying a new piece of junk?

It needs a new timing belt and rollers, at a minimum.

The burning smell is the wiring from the resistor pack to the fan. A resistor pack is about $120!!

Yes I am on the hunt for a new piece of junk
I prefer to call them "Fallen Angels"
139k on the clock
when these cars come around for less than a used Garden Tractor it is tough to say no.

A jewel in the rough S70 1998

Everything can be fixed, but at what cost? I am spending $250 for all new rear brakes, shoes and cables for my 1998. I am contemplating replacing the dryer/accumulator and see if that fixes the AC, another $200.

Can I get my money back? I doubt it, but it is a nice ride! And this hobby keeps me out of bars...
