I just finished a PCV system replacement on 1998 V70XC and in the process of removing one of the, kind of stuck, lines off the PTC nipple near the turbo unit, the hose let go and my hand jerked up and hit a plastic part coming out of the firewall. This part clicked like it released or something and now it's loose and not attached tightly to the firewall. This part has the throttle cable coming through it and also has an electrical connection attached. I'm guessing it's supposed to be attached tight to the firewall and either was unsnapped from it's connection or broken apart. Any ideas what this might be based on this crazy description? The gas pedal works and the car can be driven although I'd say the pedal is not quite as tight feeling as it was.
Incidently the PCV system replacement did wonders for the car. Runs infinitely better at 196,000 miles.
