add grease to inner tie rod end boot? 850

I just replaced both inner and outer tie rod ends, along with other front end stuff. I noticed the Haynes manual stated to add grease within the boot of the inner tie rod end. There was no grease in the original boot, nor too much on the tie rod end itself. Probably enough for lubrication as required, but no more. My question is should I add more grease than what is already on the ball joint?

I don't think more grease will hurt :) I recently did this too and found the new parts were only very slightly lubricated and added some extra synthetic wheel bearing grease for good measure. Technically as long as nothing gets into/out of the boot a little grease should be enough but.... why leave it to chance?

On the driver's side I also applied a bit of grease to the rack gears.
