Need help reinstalling sunroof shade S40-V40

I posted this in a forum that sees more FWD action, but haven't had any response. Maybe more luck here.

Daughter's 2001 S40. I wasn't there when it happened.

Last night the bar that is glued to the underside-front of the sunroof came off. It appears that all this bar does is pull the shade back when the roof is slid open. She says it made a huge "snap" noise when it happened. I don't know if the "snap" was the bar coming unglued or the shade somehow disconnecting from something. Looking at the bar, it is apparent that roughly only half (the left side) had any adhesive holding onto the glass.

The problem is that the roof would not fully close. It was getting jammed up against the shade at the front.

Does anyone know how to reinstall the shade? I was able to remove it easy enough so at least the roof will close properly, and I guess I could leave it that way, but it would be nice to have the shade back in.

Thanks for any help.

Need help reinstalling sunroof shade S40-V40

Well, the shade's been off for a month or so but since the temps are now into the 90s, my daughter said it is getting very hot in the car.

So I put the shade back in today.
I turns out that the thing that was preventing it from sliding back into place was three foam pads that are located at the rear side/bottom of the sunroof frame. They are probably there to prevent rattling. Anyway, what was happening was the rear of the shade was hanging up and couldn't get by the foam pads. I removed the pads and the shade went in fine.

I told her to see if it rattles. If it does, we'll come up with something else. But for now, at least she has some shade. She'll have to pull the shade back manually when she opens the sunroof, but she says she always did that prior to opening the roof anyway.

I guess the problem is solved. Reiterates my opinion that sunroofs are a pain. I never liked them any could live without them.
