850 Non-Turbo Motor 850

My dad blew his 97 850 motor. He had near 400k on it. I tracked down a 95 850 motor that has been rebuilt. Should it work? Were there any significant changes that took place between 95-97?

Thanks,

Mark

Keep looking. You want a 1997-8 motor from a wreck that didn't have engine problems to begin with. The lower the miles, the better.

Before you put the new engine in, change the PCV, timing belt, rollers. Many junk yards will give you a 1 year guarantee.

The 1995 engine might work, but the wiring is all wrong as is the fuel plumbing.
