Battery keeps being drained V70-XC70

At first it was the door switches that turn the lights on under the footwell and i kept adjusting the door catches till it got to the point of unplugging the lamps but something else is draining the battery which is quite new and im in the dark as to where to look. Fed up using the starter pack and then putting it on charge over night so any ideas guys?

Yes indeed i found the door problem as in shutting the doors hard then stopped the footwell lights coming on, but it got worse and worse so i unplugged the lamps and it seemed to sort things out. but i dont drive the car very often as i have 3 bikes to use as im an instructor and its my job. Even on tick over i get around 14 volts so im assuming the charging system is working and in the past if its not (on any car) you get a red light up on the dash board. This is not happening so the drain is still there some where.

your feed back is well welcome though so many thanks.

Hello, Assuming your charging system's healthy: Disconnect the battery's negative cable and measure the voltage (leak) between the clamp and the negative post. Have a helper pull fuses one at a time and see which makes the voltage disappear. If you don't own a VOM now is the time to get one. Nothing expensive. They start at $3. Good luck. Kira

A simple test light works as well. Conect the liight between the batt and disconected cable. A very dim glow indicates no draw. If the light is bright, pull fuses till it goes out or gets very dim. Glovebox light is very common.

Glove box light ay i never thought of that. im gonna cheat here and put a small video camera inside and close it up then leave a few minutes and play the video back....if i can see a picture then iv struck gold and found the problem. good thinking that man ill keep all of you folks posted. The battery was changed around 6 months ago and the new one was very expensive as i like reliability.
as i said before if those lights came on in the foot well it meant ya hadnt slammed the door shut hard enough.
