PO112 code? S70

Hi Everyone,

I have a '98 S70 GLT with 200K miles. Recently I got a check engine light that shows a PO112 code. I couldn't find a listing for this code, but this was the only one that showed up on my reader. Thanks in advance.

Dave

Intake Air Temp Circuit Low Input

Clear the code and see how long it takes to come back.

Hi Klaus,

I just cleared it and the CEL came right back on when I drove the car.

Thanks,
Dave

Your car does not have a turbo. It has a small temp sensor at the air filter box which needs to be replaced/cleaned.

Turbos have temp sensors behind the driver's side small grille and on the passenger side - my 1998 was supposed to be attached to the air guide/splash guard.

Hi Klaus,

Not sure what you mean but my car definately has a turbo. I know because I've had the whole drivetrain out of it and had the turbo rebuilt.

If it's the sensor I'm thinking of that you mentioned it's on the passenger side of the lower plastic splash shield that goes under the radiator. I thought that this was the one that gives the outside temp reading on the dash, so why would it give a check engine light?

Your year has TWO temp sensors under the front bumper. The one on the passenger side is 'supposed' to stick through the small hole in the air guide/splash pan.

The other sensor is on the driver's side and stuck in a small hole in the small bumper grill.
