My sunroof doesnt stop between operations and i must be careful to let off the button to stop it so it is fully closed or it will let rain in--the dealer wants to replace the entire motor--this doesnt seem neccessary as the motor drives the sunroof fine--it just doesnt seem to have any limit stops anymore--thanks for any advice h

There is a little black box with plastic gears that hooks in with the motor set up, behind the mirror dome lights. That little black box is what determins how far the roof should go. There are little white dots that have to be lined up correctly when connecting the box to the cable. That black box is the first thing I would look into.

I could be wrong, but this sounds like a mechanical failure of some sort. I believe either one of the sensors or switches that is activated when the sunroof closes has fused. As you say, your motor operates fine. I would look up the circuit diagram regarding the operation of the sunroof, take a continuity detector and go fishing. Otherwise, see if your dealer will let you "try" out a new switch, fuse if there is one, and any sensors including ones that may be in the motor itself. That's about the best I can do, sorry.
