More door stop problems, now cracking noises. 850 1995

I replaced the driver's door stop 9187591 December 2006. Now 25K miles later it's making cracking noises when I open and close the door. The T40 bolt connection to the body seems tight. The body ear that it attaches to seems to move a bit when I open and close the door, overall the body is in good shape so I don't suspect it's metal or welding failing unless this is a known problem with door stop attachments. Any suggestions or BTDT, otherwise I'll remove 9187591 and take better look. Lube it?

    AND, yes, lube the hinge with lithium grease before it gets worse.

      All fixed - but took 5 hours to install the 2 bolts 850 1995

      Getting the lower nut on through the access hole and tightening it with a bent wrench was quite 'fiddly' as UK mechanic Edd China would say. Upper nut was easy. All that's left is that little screw that holds the electrical connector in place, I haven't found the little hole yet. One nut was lost in the hole - hope it's not going to rattle.

        Your experience reflected mine almost exactly ... except that I gave up on the lower nut/bolt and decided to go with the strength of one bolt.

        It has been over a year, and the door is ... as they say .. like butter.

        I have never heard my lost bolt rattling around.

        Enjoy your "new" door.

        But at least the creaking is gone forever. The lost bolt will not jump around much.

        As to the electrical plug screw, you unscrewed it :)

      My s70's driver door welds have broken. I cant find a way to reattach the hinge, so you may want to inspect the door
