1999 v70xc tailgate lock

The electric lock has been intermittent for some time. Now it is not working at all. The mechanism has been swapped with one from a salvage yard, still doesn't work. The other 4 door locks work fine.

Any ideas?

    Sounds like a loose ground wire. Check the wiring at the top of the hinge for chafing.
