S70 won't start the first turning over S70 1998

My S70 won't start the first time I try to start it.
It will crank over for a couple seconds won't start but wif I turn the key to the off position and try again then it will start.
not sure what could cause this probelm feulpump, air pump, etc..

I'm actually thinking the check valve at the fuel pump. Turn your key to position II and listen for the pump prime. If you don't hear that, as the previous poster suggested, then it could well be the relay. If you do, press on the valve at the fuel rail and see if anything spurts out. If you've still got no pressure after the initial prime, odds are that's your problem.

If it does end up being the check valve, you can either: get a new fuel pump housing from a junkyard, OR splice in an in-line fuel check valve.

    Fuel pump relay!

Get in the habit of listening for the priming of the fuel lines when you first turn the key to acc! your pump should run for about 4 seconds or so..my guess is your fuel pump relay is not clicking or is clicking but not making contact!

Underneath, you must remove 4 torx screws around the fuse box.. at least in the 850 they are..someone please correct me if it wrong for the S70,

so get in the car close all doors and shut off the radio..and turn your key to the II position (acc) you should hear the pump wirring away for a few seconds..get in the habit of allways listening for this..and then when it does NOT start on the first try did you hear it priming that one time..if not i'd suspect that relay!
