actually, my s70 running just fine...friend w/ newly purchased '96 960 having an issue...CEL, pulled code P0422, main catalyst below threshold(bank 1)...is converter actually shot, or is it an O2 sensor? should be noted that just prior to purchase, previous owner had one O2 sensor replaced by the fine folks at Midas(collective groan!)

    Probably should post this on the 960 tab or the S90 tab on the RWD section. They will probably have better insight into issue especially on the 960's.

    If the replaced O2 sensor is on bank one, I wonder what kind of sensor was used??? It should have been Bosch. It is really hard to kill the CAT.

    I suspect he also has a vacuum leak somewhere.
