Hours (book rate) to replace exhaust manifold? S70

Hey all,

I was just wondering how long does it take a Volvo indy/tech to replace an exhaust manifold on a 1998 S70 non-turbo? I just had ours done and was surprised at the total cost when I saw the bill. The shop put down 4 hours for labor. Is this correct?

I haven't done it -only read a little, but it doesn't seem like much of a picnic. Many other components have to come out, like the fuel rail. It could certainly take 4 hrs to put it all back again, but I'm not a mechanic. My questions are. why'd the manifold need replacement? did it crack or something? and while it was off did you get the PCV components replaced? It would have been a good idea, if it had never been done.

The manifold was leaking at the flex pipe due to rust which caused the car to be noisy especially during acceleration. No, the PVC components weren't replaced.

The reason I asked about the '4 hours' was because the bill came to around $940. I wasn't expecting it to be this high. I am trying to figure if the cost was reasonable. (I should have asked for an estimate prior to the repair ... my bad)
