Looking to buy a 98 V70 Non Turbo with 80k anything to look for

Hello,
I am currently looking to purchase a 98 V70 with 79k on it. Looked over the obvious components tires brakes uper lower tie rods are failry new> I have a 99 V70 AWD which has been ok but lots little issues > my 850 normally aspirated was bullett proof. I am hoping to find the same in this V70. What major servies should have been performed or need to be performed soon. They are asking 5500.00 for the car.

Check for a timing belt sticker, should have been done at least 9K ago. Check the tranny fluid, it needs a flush. Bring a T25 and lift up the cowl to check the cabin air filter.
Like the 850s, the AC evaporator is a major expense to replace. If it has ECC, put both switches on 'auto' and start the car. If the lights don't blink that is a good thing.

Sounds like a lot of money for the year, regardless of the mileage.

Timing belt 70K? My 99 NA went all the way to 105K for replacement. Don't hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong. My 97 960's were both 70K.

1999 was the first full year for 105K belt changes, went with a different tensioner which also had to be changed at 105K miles.

SOME later model 98's used a mechanical tensioner - it goes by the manufacture date & engine number. Even if this car uses this 105K tensioner, I would recommend changing the belt anyway due to age.
