Heater core price? 850

I think my 95 850 needs a heater core. I also think I am out of my league on the repair. I could probably do it eventually; but time, weather, and available workspace are making it very unlikely.

So, what do you think I could expect to pay to have this done?

I'm in Oklahoma City area, there are obviously dealers around. There is also a shop nearby that specializes in imports. It's a grungy looking place, but they are busy all the time, maybe a good thing.

What are your thoughts? Just looking for ballpark figures...$500? $1000?

Thanks for reading, Greg.

A heater core at FCP Groton is $130 and 2 O rings for $2.50. Less than 1 hour's work.

If you DIY and to check for a leak, just remove the kick panel under the steering wheel and then pull off the side kick panel next to your right foot. Then you can see under the heater core and still drive the car.

It was my understanding that the dash had to come out of the car in order to replace the heater core.

No, no, no. That is the AC evaporator you are talking about, the heater core is a piece of cake.

Edit:
You do not have to remove the glovebox in your car, just the kick panels.
