Hard to go from P to R sometimes. 850 1995

Yesterday, twice, a bit of force was required to shift from P to R and it clunked ever so slightly. All other shifting patterns are fine. Today the symptom is gone though. I always am sure to be stopped when shifting (per Klaus) and I flushed the trans just 30K ago. The '95 850 non-turbo has 151K on it and the tran fluid level is fine.

Any ideas about what may be causing this?

THANKS,
Dukester

Were you parked on an incline, without the parking brake engaged? That's normal. The steeper the incline, the harder it is to get out of park. For those parking in San Francisco type hills, I suggest shifting to N, set the parking brake, then put the tranny in P.

Thanks for stopping before shifting from R to D or viceversa, your tranny appreciates it.

If you are on perfectly level ground and the shifter is hard to get out of drive, the button on the shifter could probably use a squirt of silicone.
