Just purchased my dream car used. 105 k miles. Just changed timing belt and had a mechanic look it over. All is well.

However things I have noticed. Engine surge some time in idle and while driving. Engine light came on and then went off.

Any suggestions?

I do not have the maintence history for this veh but I wanted to service the trans and dealer advised not too change fluid for the volvo.

Trans fluid is amber in color. Any suggestions?

How are the plugs?
I would: change plugs, change air filter, clean MAF, clean ETM and flush the transmission.
Yes, change it anyways. They call it life time transmission fluid. Which is a load of crap. No such thing as life time fluid. They just want your trans to fail after your warranty expires.
Should run like new after that.
