Fellow Bricksters.

My wife wants to do an upgrade to an XC90. Now I have read many post on Brickboard and XC70.com and have learnt to give the 6 cyl twin turbo a big miss based on transmission issues.

However I may have found a 2006 2.5T with 50,000 miles on the clock with full service history. I am wondering what sort of issues do I need to look out for... I am familiar with the P2 Volvo V70 and wondering what sort of other drama's I should be wary of

I would have preferred going to the XC70 however the wife wants the option of the seven seater. Damn.

    The 06 is fairly clean. Same componants as the V70 awd, beefier suspension, drinks more gasoline. Not all XC90's have the third row...

      Klaus,

      No drama's from where we live in Australia. All have the third row, would prefer the D5 diesel (I don't think you get that in the states) however this is at a good price. What auto transmission is in this, and reliability on this box. The V70 we had 5 cyl non turbo gave up the ghost at 60,000 miles.

      Should be pretty solid car, I am thinking of putting the IPD sway bars on it also. Have had previous experience and found them fantastic.

        The autobox in the 2006 is pretty good, but check the fluid anyway. It needs 3309 ATF, has a 5 speed with manual selector.
        Drive it a while before you order any suspension upgrades, it is top heavy and not made for hard cornering :)
