Looking at ordering the gasket set for my head gasket repair.

Which brand of gasket sets is the better? FCP sells Elring and IPD sells Elwis.

IPD and FCP are both great retailers. Not having ever replaced a head on the 850, I would say that as long as you have proper surface prep on the head and block and proper torqing and bolt sequence, either one should work out fine. Maybe you could call IPD and ask them why they chose the brand they did.

If in doubt use genuine Volvo. I did and no problems. Thing is, you are so far into the engine original seemed best to me. Also, FCP can get genuine Volvo parts.
