low fuel pressure V70-XC70 1998

I recently purchase a 98 xc70. The vehicle will not start. With the fuel line removed from the injector rail, there is no fuel discharger when cycling the key. If the engine is cranked, there is a weak flow of fuel.
I disconnected the fuel line at the inlet of the fuel filter. There is a weak flow of fuel when cycling the key and when cranking.
Where is the fuel pump located? Is it common to have a weak fuel pump.

As KlausC said, I did this job not too long ago. Doable but not my favourite DIY job (Italian tuneup anyone?).

That thread lists where to buy a brand new pump on it's own. I got a used assembly complete with pump for $50+shipping from Strandberg Auto. Lovely to deal with.

Get a new pump assembly gasket (between the pump assembly and the tank) - they wear out and leak. Mine was fine until I took everything apart and then never sealed again.

I busted the 'quick connect fittings' taking it apart and putting it back together so many times... so I got new fittings for the vinyl fuel lines at Canadian Tire which has started selling Papco vinyl fuel line repair parts - couplers and clamps and quick connect fittings and everything.

Also get your tank really empty before pulling the pump out - it sits low and all but ~5 liters will spill out all over the floor.

Darn. The fuel pump on the awd cars is almost impossible to access. The mechanics will have to drop the tank, which means that the rear suspension needs to come off as does the prop shaft.

Jadmin just cut a hole on the passenger side, under the rear of the rear seat back to access it. Not a very nice job, there are fuel and brake lines in the same area!! Plus patching the hole back up. Doable, but a real mess.
