Has anyone taken one of these apart. I opened one and can't seem to figue what part needs lubrication, cleaning or repair. I didn't find anything that looked out of the ordinary. Except for the loud explosion. Lol. It is quite interesting how it works, what I did understand. 1995 850 sedan turbo.

Part of the SRS system is a clamp on the seatbelt that permanently locks it into position (in the event of a crash, etc). It sounds like you may have somehow set that off or it just broke.

If you pull the belt and play with it you can get it to release. what I mean is tug tug tug release a few inches tug tug tug release a few inches. Not that smooth release like when working properly. Almost like someone hitting the brakes repeatedly when your trying to put on your seatbelt.
