Amsoil Air fllter V70-XC70 01

Just as with my experience with EBC brake pads, now Amsoil sent me the wrong air filter for my 01 V70 2.4T. It seems that a lot of aftermarket manufacturors are presuming that the 00 V70 and the 01 V70 are the same in mechanical terms and thus, first EBC sent me the wrong pads, and now Amsoil the wrong air filter. I sure with they would all get with the program...

Re: Amsoil Air fllter V70-XC70 01

The same thing happened to me. They have the wrong filter listed in the book. Amsoil created a custom air filter for me (I have a 2001 V70-T5M). The dimensions on the filter are 8.5x13" on the top looking down view. These are the only dimensions that really matter. I have the part number at home and will post tomorrow.

The part number for the Amsoil air filter for a 2001 V70 T5 is S2371.

I noticed that the engine does seem to "breathe" a little easier.

Justin,

that is interesting...have you installed it? If yes, have you noticed any difference especially at higher speeds?

Sam-

I trust you have been in contact with the AMSOIL Tech Service.

They pay someone to put the info together, and every now and then the "someone" doesn't do so well!

Re: Amsoil Air fllter V70-XC70 01

Same thing happened with me when I order from K&N. I specified air filter for the 2.3L Turbo engine, they sent me one for an S40! When I called them, they told me that i had the correct filter. I spent 3-5 minutes trying to persuade the rep, on the phone, that the filter I had was too small and I suggested he checks because it seems like an S40 filter. After a small discussion, he found out that they had labeled the S40 filters wrong. Had to wait an aditional 7 days until they found the correct one for the 2.3L 5-cyl. engine. I guess it is hard for them since they have to stock filters for all types of brands and models.

Re: Amsoil Air fllter V70-XC70 01

This isn't a case of sending the wrong filter by accident, however. They list the wrong filter in their catalogue, as does EBC list the wrong brakes, they sincerely think they are selling the right part, they are wrong, and that should be corrected soon I hope.

Re: Amsoil Air fllter V70-XC70 01

Sam,

without wanting to beat a dead horse any further, they sent me to wrong filter not by accident but because they had it catalogued under the wrong name and part number. Only after I pointed out the difference (they had two S40s on file...one 1.9T and the other 2.3T!!!) then they corrected it.
