OBDII error reading... V70-XC70 1999

I'm embarrased to ask this, but where is the connector for OBDII scanner on this car??? I checked under the hood, and under the dash...

It confuses everyone the first time. Lift up the armrest in the center console, and voila! there you will see the obd connector under a little plastic cover =)

Hmmm...I do not see a connector on my 2001 model. Does anyone know the location?
