Adding C changer to HU-613 V70-XC70 2001

Has anyone added a (Alpine) CD changer to their HU-613 on their own?

I'm planning to do this and wondered if there are any special

tricks to it, or is it a relatively straight forward installation?

I wouldnt add a changer to this system unless it is a dedicated Volvo changer because the Alpine unit is probably going through your fm tuner in which the signal to noise ratio is far below that of a cd player meaning more white noise...the dedicated Volvo changer is plugged directly in through an RCA jack in the back ( I believe) which is in all cases a higher fidelity connection.

As far as I know the Alpine would use the same cables that Volvo's

own would use and now RF at all. Also the control of the changer

would be with the main unit. The only thing needed, as far as I

know would be the interface. I even heard that Volvo uses Alpine's

changers, just puts the Volvo brand name on them.

Don't know this for a fact, though.
